Class Description
Using aerial silk hammocks in wonderful ways to take yoga into the air, from the relaxing and gentle to the acrobatic, mostly great fun!
Children’s classes taught by Luna Surya Joy (founder of Young Yogis Academy) and Kirsten Germann who has been teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga since 1996 and has worked with AerialYoga for the last two years.
You will learn some basics of how to use the yoga hammock as an aid to do everyday yoga poses, with a new angle on the ground and also how to perform more difficult poses, like handstands with ease. We will take the practise into the air, learn a wonderful range of inverted postures which are great to decompress the spine, back bending, balancing and more. And then there is the relaxation….
Apart from being fun, this practise is great for building strength, confidence and skill, as well as an ability to trust and relax. It can be used to take an already existing yoga practise to new heights and depths, or simply be enjoyed by itself.
